The Hegid Mirage Soleil (Ice Blue & Silver)

By Brent Robillard

Winter Time

Just when winter light begins to flatten the landscape, Hegid introduces two new expressions of the Mirage Soleil—ice blue and silver—quietly refreshing the brand’s most evocative design with a colder, crisper palette. The Mirage has always been about movement: speed on winding roads, light bouncing off sculpted metal, and the particular optimism of the late 1960s. The 2025 editions stay true to that spirit while bringing their own seasonal character into view.

An Ode to the Transalpine Supercar

First launched in 2020, the Mirage was conceived by Artistic Director Jérôme Coste as a companion for the golden age of the transalpine supercar. Its lines and textures pull directly from that period, imagining a driver cutting through sun-soaked switchbacks in a Miura or stepping out under the flashing bulbs of Riviera nightlife. The new winter-toned dials feel quieter, more distilled—still inspired by speed and spectacle, but captured now through ice, metal, and high-altitude clarity.

120 Individual Facets

At the centre of the Mirage Soleil is a dial composed of 120 individual facets. Each angle catches light differently, so the hands seem to travel across shifting terrain rather than a flat surface. Details—indexes, hands, and polished elements—respond readily to daylight, and the lume gently transitions the watch into evening. The Mirage Soleil remains compact and wearable, with a 39.6 mm diameter and a 45.2mm lug-to-lug, with a thickness of 11 mm. Its modular construction uses a blend of 316L 4441 steel on the case and Grade 5 titanium in the “capsule,” forming the foundation of Hegid’s patented EVOL system, which allows cases, capsules, and straps to be interchanged. A screwed crown, tube, and case back secure the watch to 10BAR (100-metre) water resistance.

Modular philosophy

True to Hegid’s modular philosophy, the components of the Mirage Soleil are offered separately and can be integrated into existing Hegid watches. The familiar satin-finished steel case returns, paired with the Virage Nappa leather strap and its quilted motif borrowed from 1960s sports-car interiors. Both the front crystal and exhibition back are fitted with anti-scratch, anti-reflective sapphire, and each watch carries an individually engraved serial number. Power comes from the automatic Hegid Specimen FE-01, running to Swiss chronometric standards with an accuracy of –4/+6 seconds per day and a 44-hour power reserve. Cases, capsules, straps, and calibres are all designed, manufactured, or assembled in France, consistent with the brand’s manufacturing ethos.
