About

At The Calibrated Wrist, we believe watches are about more than specs, price tags, or prestige. The best watches tell stories—about the people who make them, the history behind them, and the memories we create while wearing them.

That’s what we try to capture. It’s about connection.

Whether it’s a small independent brand with a great idea, a heritage piece with decades of history, or a modern tool watch built for everyday adventure, we’re interested in what makes a watch feel meaningful and worth connecting with.

We want horology to feel welcoming, approachable, and fun for everyone—from longtime collectors to someone buying their very first mechanical watch. No gatekeeping. No hype for the sake of hype. Just honest enthusiasm for great watches and the people behind them.

At the end of the day, The Calibrated Wrist exists to share the stories, craftsmanship, and passion that make this hobby special.

Our Team

Editor & Publisher

Brent Robillard is a writer, educator, craftsman, and watch enthusiast. He is the author of four novels. You can follow him on Instagram.

Creative Director & Production Editor

Caroline Bergeron works at the intersection of craft, image, and instinct. A leather mask maker, painter, photographer, and videographer, she creates objects and images that feel both ancient and intimate. When not behind the camera for The Calibrated Wrist, she can be found tending bees, chasing light, or wandering alongside her Great Dane. Her world is equal parts patience and curiosity, shaped by making things slowly and living attentively. Follow her work at @backwater_chic, and her daily explorations at @odin_le_danois.

Marketing Director & Promotions

Matias serves as Marketing Manager at The Calibrated Wrist, where he oversees Sales and Promotions while acting as the publication’s key marketing organizer and brand liaison. Working largely behind the scenes, he coordinates partnerships and manages the publication’s growing presence across the watch industry. Outside of horology, Matias has a deep appreciation for automotive design and car culture. He is also passionate about film, visual storytelling, and cinematography.

Stephen Nichols, better known as @talkingabouttime on Instagram, is a photographer and watch enthusiast battling a chronic case of “watch flu.” It all started with a Fossil that didn’t last, but somehow, he’s still here. Once a portrait photographer with a modest collection, he’s now drowning in watches—because nothing makes time fly like spending all your money on it.
