Familiar forms
Isotope has always approached watchmaking from a slightly unexpected angle, blending wit, symbolism, and graphic clarity into objects that feel both familiar and delightfully unconventional. This month, the brand turns two of its most recognised concepts into something entirely new: a pair of oversized 35 cm luminous wall clocks that reinterpret the HydriumX “Will Return” and the HydriumX Exit in a format designed for everyday spaces.

The Wall Return
The story begins in 2021, when the HydriumX Will Return—a limited run of just 100 watches—quickly became one of Isotope’s most talked-about creations. What started as a playful take on the classic shop sign resonated far more widely than expected, ultimately earning the brand a GPHG nomination and introducing a broader audience to its design sensibility.
Collectors have asked for its return ever since. Rather than remake the watch, Isotope decided to explore the spirit of the original in a new way, scaling the concept into an object meant not for the wrist, but for the wall. The resulting piece, the Wall Return, immediately recalls the graphic charm of the HydriumX version, but now amplified through a large domed crystal, an aluminium case styled with Isotope’s characteristic cues, and a fully luminous dial that offers a vivid presence both day and night. Only 300 will be produced.

The Exit Clock
Alongside it arrives the Exit Clock, a companion piece inspired by another fan favourite: the HydriumX Exit. The wristwatch version became known for its clever luminous twist—a discreet figure that appears only in darkness, caught mid-stride in a quiet but unmistakable escape. Enlarged to 35 cm, that idea gains new humour and immediacy. In daylight, the clock reads with bold simplicity; in the dark, the glowing silhouette reappears with even greater impact. It retains the same domed crystal, aluminium case, and smooth sweeping Seiko quartz movement as its counterpart, and will be produced in a run of 200 pieces.

A Playful Pair
Taken together, the two clocks form a small but meaningful extension of Isotope’s world. They express the same design language that has come to define the brand—clean lines, luminous playfulness, and a willingness to transform ordinary symbols into something more engaging—but now translated into another scale entirely. They also signal a belief that watchmaking, at its most creative, does not need to be confined to watches alone.

Luminous Storytelling
What unites these two clocks is not simply their scale, but their purpose. They extend Isotope’s visual identity into a new setting, proving that the brand’s design sensibilities work just as well when observed from across a room as they do from the distance of an outstretched wrist. Both pieces sit comfortably within Isotope’s ongoing exploration of everyday symbols, graphic simplicity, and luminous storytelling.

What Isotope Stands For
As the brand puts it, collectors had been asking for the Will Return to come back, and this seemed the most honest way to answer them. The Exit Clock, meanwhile, offered an invitation to take a familiar idea and see how it behaved when given more space. Together, they represent a small but notable expansion of what Isotope makes—and perhaps, a hint at where it might be willing to go next.
“These clocks show what Isotope stands for,” the brand explains. “Design with wit, originality, and heart.”
