Hanhart has introduced the AQUASPHERE Matte Black 42, a new addition to its professional diving watch collection. The latest model pairs a fully matte black dial and ceramic bezel with polished and brushed case surfaces, creating a restrained, contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the robust tool-watch character of the AQUASPHERE line. Strong contrast comes from a silver-coloured rehaut, applied hour markers, distinctive horizontally split bezel numerals, a red bezel marker, and a red-tipped seconds hand, all designed to maximise legibility both above and below the water.

The 42mm stainless steel case measures 12.95mm thick with a 49mm lug-to-lug length and is water resistant to 30 ATM. It features a unidirectional 60-click ceramic bezel, screw-down crown, domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, and a helium escape valve for saturation diving. Hands, indices, and bezel markings are coated with Super-LumiNova C1 GL X2 for visibility in low-light conditions.
Depending on production series, the watch is powered by either the Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 or Soprod P024 automatic movement. Both operate at 4 Hz, offer hacking seconds and a minimum 38-hour power reserve, and are regulated by Hanhart to an average daily rate of between 0 and +8 seconds across six positions.
The AQUASPHERE Matte Black is available with three strap options: an elastic Hook Strap, an FKM rubber strap with folding clasp, or a stainless steel bracelet with tool-free micro-adjustment. Prices begin at €1,540 on the Hook Strap, rising to €1,740 on the steel bracelet.
