Haim Watch Company Marks Five Years with the Annum: An Annual Calendar Worth Celebrating

by Matt Black

A new chapter of craftsmanship, confidence, and complication

As it celebrates its fifth anniversary, Haim Watch Company isn’t looking in the rear view – instead, its eyes are firmly on the road ahead.

The brand’s latest release, Annum, is more than an ode to their journey up to this point.

It’s a declaration of maturity.

With its Annual Calendar and Moonphase complication and the debut of the brand’s first custom mechanical calendar module, Haim’s evolution from boutique upstart to serious watchmaker is unmistakable.

Key Features of the Haim Watch Company’s Annum

A celebration of craft and progress

Founder Zakir Miah calls Annum a “celebration of everything we’ve achieved and everything we aspire to,” and that sentiment shows in every detail. Beneath the elegant exterior lies Caliber HWC-2, Haim’s second customized movement–a modified automatic base topped with the new annual calendar module. It’s a natural next step for a brand that’s made precision and progress the core of its identity.

Neo-vintage, three ways

Annum’s design language continues Haim’s signature blend of modern refinement and vintage warmth. The balanced and very wearable 38mm case is rendered in finely brushed and polished stainless steel, with gracefully reimagined “Cornes de Vache” lugs that nod to mid-century icons while simultaneously meeting the expectations of today’s enthusiasts and collectors.

Haim has given us three dials to choose from with the Annum:

  • Dark Cobalt: A deep, textured blue dial with silver accents and guilloché detailing at its center.
  • Stone White: Crisp, classic, and sophisticated, featuring thermal-blued subdial hands and subtle guilloché textures.
  • Fumée: The standout of the trio, with a smoked sapphire dial that partially reveals the mechanics beneath.

Each variation arrives with a quiet confidence, reminding wearers that mechanical complexity doesn’t always shout the loudest.

Built for every moment

Inside, the HWC-2 automatic movement beats at 28,800 VPH, boasting 24 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve. Through the exhibition caseback, its finishing tells its own story: Côtes de Genève, blued screws, an engraved balance cock, and a gold-plated tungsten rotor that adds a splash of opulence to an already elegant piece.

A five-layer anti-reflective sapphire crystal ensures clarity, while 30m of water resistance keeps the Annum ready for daily wear. The watch ships on a custom French Epsom leather strap, complete with quick-release spring bars, which seems like a simple touch but will serve as welcome news to those who like to swap their straps on the regular.

The right size for the next step

At 38mm across and 12mm thick, the Annum feels really well-balanced–substantial enough to convey presence, but slim enough to slip under a cuff.

Final Thoughts

For a brand that’s built its reputation on accessible luxury, the Annum feels like a confident statement of intent–elegant, capable, and unmistakably Haim. It’s a complicated watch that despite its intricacies, still manages to feel like an everyday companion. It celebrates not just five years of watchmaking for Haim, but the promise of many more to come.
