Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba in Summer Colours

Summer at your wrist

Nothing says summer like a dive watch. And nothing screams summer like a dive watch in hot pink. So if you are ready to scream summer, Hamilton has you covered with three new colourways in the Khaki Navy Scuba Collection–including the lovely dusty rose featured here (H82395330).

Hamilton’s reputation in the tool watch department is a solid one. Whether it be in the Khaki Field, Khaki Aviation, or here, in the Khaki Navy Scuba, you are sure to get a value-packed offering. But owning a tool watch doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun, does it?

Key Features of the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba

All three watches in the new Khaki Navy Scuba Collection are rendered in 316L stainless steel and measure 40mm in diameter. They also come in just under 13mm in height. On wrist, with the supple yet robust rubber strap, the watch feels balanced. There are no great departures here. This is the same case we find on other 40mm iterations in the Navy Scuba line. The silhouette is a classic one with swooping, athletic lugs and guards over the screw down crown. The case back is also screwed down and the watch promises 100m of water resistance.

This last spec is arguably light for a watch with Scuba in its nomenclature; however, it is not an uncommon feature in the Navy Scuba collection which varies between 10 and 30BAR. Either way, you’ll be safe kicking it poolside or out for a day on the water.

The bezel is equipped with an aluminum insert and is unidirectional. The action is crisp with no backplay and is fully graduated from zero to fifteen. The entire case is brushed with a satin sheen–radially over the lugs and vertically on the sides.

The big story is, of course, the colour. In all iterations the chapter ring has been matched perfectly with the strap. The arrow-tipped seconds hand also picks up the hue. A mix of bold white wedge and baton hour markers break things up, and there is an inner 24-hour index with printed numerals. The dauphine hands and markers have been treated with Super-LumiNova and offer up a blast of blue when fully charged.

The Khaki Navy Scuba is powered by the well-known H-10 Calibre, present in many of Hamilton’s entry-level watches. The 3Hz movement is based on the ETA C.07.611. It has 25 jewels and weekend-busting 80-hour power reserve.

The OEM strap tapers from 20mm at the lugs to 18mm at the stainless steel buckle and has been finished with the word “KHAKI” in bold relief.

Final Thoughts

Few Swiss brands can offer the sort of value Hamilton can, which makes watches like these new Khaki Navy Scubas a viable option. While this might not be your first choice as a dive watch, at a price point well under $1000 dollars, it could easily be your summer watch. Swiss pedigree and a robust build quality with a movement serviceable the world over (not to mention its three days of power reserve) make this trio of timepieces all about function and fun. With Summer just around the corner, why not dive in?
