Atelier Wen and Massena LAB have joined forces for the Inflection Shuò, a 50-piece limited edition that brings Swiss hand-finishing together with Atelier Wen’s Chinese design language. Named for the Chinese character 烁, meaning “sparkling,” “glittering,” or “radiant,” the collaboration is offered in two versions: 40 pieces combining white and rose gold on the dial, and 10 with an all-white-gold dial reserved for established clients of the two brands. Each is housed in a 40mm case made from 99.9% pure tantalum and paired with an integrated tantalum bracelet.

The solid 18k gold dials are produced by Swiss specialist GT Cadrans, with hand tremblage performed by engraver Coralie Mercier. Thousands of irregular facets are created by oscillating the dial beneath a graver, producing the textured surface that gives Shuò its name. A radially brushed gold hour sector introduces a reinterpretation of the California dial, combining custom serif Arabic numerals from 10 through 2 with specially commissioned Chinese calligraphy from 4 through 8. Blue-filled numerals are joined by blued-steel hands, while the outer sector incorporates a hand-finished huiwen border inspired by the traditional Chinese decorative motif.

Inside is a customized version of Girard-Perregaux’s automatic GP03300 calibre. Its redesigned bridges draw upon wind motifs found in historical Chinese painting and are treated with dark ruthenium plating, anglage, wavy côtes and black-polished screws, while a custom rotor is plated in 5N rose gold. The movement operates at 28,800 vph and provides approximately 48 hours of power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres.

The Atelier Wen x Massena LAB Inflection Shuò is priced at CHF 33,800 excluding taxes, with deliveries expected to begin in small batches in early 2027. The watch will also be presented during Geneva Watch Days 2026 at Hôtel Eastwest in Geneva.
