DOXA is marking what would have been Clive Cussler’s 95th birthday with the introduction of the SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler, a numbered limited edition of 300 pieces that pays tribute to the celebrated novelist, maritime explorer, and founder of NUMA. Inspired by the original SUB 300 introduced in 1967, the new model returns the iconic design to Grade 5 titanium for the first time in recent years, combining reduced weight with exceptional strength and corrosion resistance. Originally planned as a run of 95 pieces, production was expanded to 300 following strong demand. Beginning July 15, 2026, the watch will be available through both DOXA’s website and, for the first time, authorized DOXA retailers.

One of the defining features of the SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler is its newly developed dual-plane dial construction. Crafted from two layers of sandblasted Grade 5 titanium, the upper dial features precisely laser-cut apertures that reveal the luminous hour markers and minute track beneath, creating a subtle sense of depth while preserving the excellent legibility for which the SUB collection is known. Signature DOXA details remain intact, including the patented no-decompression bezel, the oversized orange minute hand, and a 300-metre water-resistance rating. Special touches include orange date numerals on the 15th, 7th, and 31st, referencing Clive Cussler’s birth date, while a COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement powers the watch.

Measuring 42.5mm by 45mm and 13.4mm thick, the Grade 5 titanium case is paired with a black Dive Flex rubber strap inspired by vintage tropical designs. The titanium screw-down caseback features the NUMA emblem, COSC certification, and individual numbering for each example. In keeping with Clive Cussler’s lifelong dedication to maritime exploration and preservation, DOXA will donate a portion of proceeds from every SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler sold to NUMA, continuing the close relationship between the Cussler family and the brand while celebrating one of watchmaking’s most enduring literary partnerships.
The watch retails for $2,890 CHF. Visit the brand website for more details.
