Formex has introduced a new variation of its Reef 39.5, this time built around a forged carbon dial and bezel insert. Rather than chasing weight savings, the focus here is visual—each surface carries a subtle, irregular pattern that shifts in the light, giving the watch a more organic character than its ceramic or steel counterparts.

The integration of forged carbon brings a few technical considerations. The dial sits on a brass base for stability, while the brand’s bevelled date aperture at six o’clock remains intact. On the bezel, numerals are engraved via laser and filled with Super-LumiNova. Beneath it all, the fundamentals remain unchanged: 300 metres of water resistance, a screw-down crown, and a COSC-certified Sellita SW300-1 with a 56-hour power reserve.

The watch retains the Reef’s interchangeable bezel system and quick-release strap options, allowing for a range of configurations. This release also marks Formex’s debut at Chronopolis, an independent watch gathering taking place in Geneva from April 14–18, 2026, alongside Watches and Wonders.
