Micromilspec Unveils Three New Dualtimers in Perfect Blue, Perfect Green, and Perfect Sand

By Brent Robillard

Happy Anniversary

Micromilspec doesn’t do anniversaries the way most brands do. So don’t expect special ceremonial limited editions. Instead, for its sixth year (that’s right, not fifth…), the Oslo-based independent watchmaker has taken a quieter—and, somehow, more subversive—approach: three new versions of the Dualtimer in perfectly judged colours that feel like they should have been part of the lineup all along. And they will be, hereafter.

Meet the new Dualtimer Perfect Blue, Perfect Green, and Perfect Sand—three purpose-built tool watches elevated with just enough chromatic intrigue to shift the mood of the collection without disturbing its core philosophy. They’re not anniversary models, nor collector bait. They’re simply Micromilspec doing what Micromilspec does best: making rigorously functional, quietly rebellious watches for people who appreciate both precision and personality.

Each colour is limited only by an annual production cap of 25 pieces, with pricing from €1,670 (approx. $2725 CAD).

A Year Six Release With a Wink

The Dualtimer’s new palette is more meaningful than it may appear. For five years, Micromilspec produced more than 40 made-to-order watches for military and specialist units—38 of them with black dials. The brand’s visual identity became defined by restraint. And so these new civilian references restore what the team jokingly calls “chromatic equilibrium.”

“Forget the obligatory five-year anniversary piece,” says Henrik Rye, Founder and CEO. “We’re celebrating year six with a non-limited edition in the colours we’ve somehow avoided for half a decade—for reasons none of us can explain.”

This lightness of tone is matched by a growing confidence. Following the success of last year’s Field collection, the expanded Pilot line— including the Dualtimer—has quickly become the brand’s bestselling family. These three new additions feel like the natural consequence of momentum.

Still a Pilot’s Tool at Heart

While the colours are new, the Dualtimer remains every inch the professional-grade instrument Micromilspec built its name on.

Inside beats the Sellita SW330-2, an automatic GMT calibre with a 56-hour power reserve, allowing the wearer to track two time zones—a nod to pilots, frequent travellers, and anyone whose day crosses borders.

Legibility remains paramount. Micromilspec employs a split-lume system using two distinct Super-LumiNova X1 tones:

  • Blue for the 24-hour bezel and GMT hand
  • Green for the main dial, hour markers, and hands

The result is an intuitive day-night readout that’s as functional in a dark cockpit as it is on a redeye flight home.

The 42 mm stainless steel case keeps the Dualtimer’s disciplined proportions intact: 12.5 mm thick, 20 mm lugs, and 200 m of water resistance—enough to survive a storm on the North Sea or a weekend escape to wherever the colour of your dial feels most at home. A sapphire crystal provides clarity, while the open caseback offers room for personal engraving. Not uncommon in a military watch.

Perfect Colours, Practical Versatility

Each of the three models features a radial-finished dial —

  • Perfect Blue for a crisp, understated tool-watch cool
  • Perfect Green for a military-adjacent tone that avoids clichés (my fave, btw)
  • Perfect Sand for a warm, modern field-meets-pilot aesthetic

Every watch comes with a choice of brushed stainless steel bracelet, black leather, or rubber strap, making it easy to adapt the Dualtimer to whatever environment you live or work in: cockpit, office, deployment, or weekend getaway.

Micromilspec’s Independent Path Forward

Founded in 2019, Micromilspec’s reputation was forged on producing “made-to-order” watches for military and special service units—a niche that demands authenticity, durability, and absolute seriousness. Their civilian offerings carry that same DNA, but with a willingness to be playful where it counts.

These new Dualtimers reinforce that identity. They’re thoughtful without being loud, colourful without being indulgent, and engineered with the exacting standards that have quietly made Micromilspec one of the most interesting independents working today. Personally, I can’t wait to see that tone of green in the metal.

Three colours. One purpose. A sixth-anniversary release that celebrates going your own way in true Norwegian fashion.
