The Omega Seamaster Collection boasts a rich history of pioneering technology and the use of innovative materials. This year, the tradition of technical excellence continues with the introduction of the new Planet Ocean Dark Grey timepiece, which is skillfully crafted from silicon nitride ceramic (Si3N4).

This marks the first instance of Omega applying silicon nitride on such a significant scale in watchmaking. The outcome is a timepiece well-suited for adventures, offering remarkable durability while remaining lightweight.

The inherent lightness of silicon nitride ceramic enhances wearer comfort, while its inherent robustness provides the necessary strength for serious explorations. This dark grey material is utilised in the 45.5 mm case, patented NAIAD LOCK caseback, and bezel ring, showcasing its design versatility.

Additionally, Omega has incorporated contrasting Grade 5 titanium for the bezel body, strap folding clasp, and the sand-blasted dial, featuring anthracite hands and indexes. This specific type of titanium is a favorite in the aerospace industry, reinforcing the watch’s durability without significantly increasing its weight.

Consistent with the overall theme, the movement also adheres to a dark aesthetic. The Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8906, housed in Grade 5 Titanium, is exceptionally lightweight and features a GMT function, ensuring precision and performance. It is visible through a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. Notably, the entire watch is water-resistant to a depth of 600 meters, in line with the Seamaster’s remarkable ocean-going capabilities.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean Dark Grey retails for $22 200USD. For more information, please visit the website.
