Serica Introduces the 6190 TXD

By Brent Robillard

A New Take on the Tuxedo Dial

Serica has returned to a design that helped define its early identity, revisiting the Tuxedo layout first seen on a field watch nearly four years ago (Ref. 4512 TXD). The new reference—the 6190 TXD—doesn’t reissue that earlier piece so much as reinterpret it. A third colour enters the familiar concentric arrangement, allowing the contrast of the original to remain intact while steering clear of anything resembling faux-aged tones. The result is a layout that feels more deliberate, more contemporary, and comfortably within Serica’s design vocabulary.

The 6190 TXD

The TXD’s polished enamel dial introduces hand-applied, circled hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova C3. The hands receive a brushed finish this time, giving the display a slightly sharper visual rhythm while maintaining the understated readability that’s become characteristic of the 6190 line. Serica has always emphasised restrained choices that carry through multiple references, and the TXD continues that approach.

Familiar case

Housed in a 37.7 mm stainless-steel case, the watch retains the twisted-lug silhouette and alternating finishes that define the broader range. Thickness comes in at 10.4 mm (including the crystal), with a 46.5 mm lug-to-lug span and a 20 mm lug width—dimensions that keep the TXD in the realm of everyday wear without compromising presence. Water-resistance remains rated to 20 ATM, and the double-domed sapphire crystal adds both durability and a touch of distortion around the edges.
