Adding a Bit of Bronze and Class
There’s a particular kind of watch that doesn’t shout about what it is. It doesn’t overwhelm the wrist with oversized specs or demand attention with radioactive lume. Instead, it slides in under the radar, confident enough to let design and detail do the talking. The new VERO x Wildwood Studio Edition is exactly that kind of watch.
A few weeks back, before the official launch, I had the opportunity to photograph the piece and play house with it a little. In truth, it was a classy roomie.

A collaboration between Portland’s VERO Watch Company and their stylish neighbors at Wildwood & Company, the Studio Edition is limited to just 200 pieces (with a portion held back for Wildwood’s clientele). It’s not aiming for mass appeal—it’s aiming for lasting presence.

Key Features of the VERO X Wildwood Studio Edition Bronze
The important stuff
The case is a tidy 38mm across, crafted from bronze with a mix of matte and polished finishes. The matte case lends a sense of rugged tactility, while the polished bezel catches light just enough to remind you it’s still a well-considered piece of design. Over time, the bronze will develop a patina that reflects its wearer’s habits and environment—aging in step with you, but probably more gracefully.

VERO and Wildwood made the smart choice to keep things lume-free, letting the sector dial’s textures and tones take center stage. Pyramid-shaped indices give the dial subtle depth, leaf-style hands add a refined silhouette, and a blue seconds hand throws in just the right amount of personality. Altogether, it’s clean, intentional, and just a little unexpected.
Inside, the Studio Edition is powered by the Seiko NH38A—an automatic movement that’s as dependable as they come, and regulated in the U.S. for improved accuracy. There’s no date to worry about setting, and the 41-hour power reserve means you can wear it all week and leave it on your dresser over the weekend without consequence.

The nitty gritty
The cross-stitched Saffiano leather strap adds a dose of sophistication—Italian leather paired with a deployant clasp that feels a bit like wearing nice shoes with your favorite jeans. It’s casual, but not careless. And yes, this watch might make you look slightly more pulled together than you actually are.

On the practical side: 120 meters of water resistance, a screw-down crown and caseback, AR-coated flat sapphire, and a comfortable 12mm case height. The lug-to-lug distance lands at 46mm, meaning it’ll sit nicely on most wrists without overreaching.
The real kicker? VERO is backing it with a 10-year no-questions-asked warranty. That’s not just confidence—that’s commitment. Even beyond the decade mark, they’ll still service and support the watch to keep it ticking.

The Wildwood Connection
For those who were unaware (like me), Wildwood & Company is a bespoke tailoring house in Portland, Oregon, modeled after the iconic tailoring houses of Savile Row. With a focus on inclusivity, Wildwood & Company is known for creating custom suits, all made in the USA.
Beyond tailoring, Wildwood & Company curates a selection of fine accessories, including silk ties, suspenders, and pocket squares.
Their recent collaboration with VERO Watch Company on the Studio Edition timepieces supports the convergence of two similar approaches to design–blending classic design elements with modern functionality, accessible to everyone.

Final Thoughts & Pricing
At $650 USD ($911 CAD), this is not a throwaway impulse buy—but it’s not trying to be. It’s thoughtful, well-made, and subtle in a way that grows on you the longer you wear it. Like a good leather jacket or a well-aged bottle of rye (sorry, I’m Canadian).
The VERO x Wildwood Studio Edition says a lot without shouting, and it lands in a sweet spot: a bit of an indulgence, but one that brings value in return. It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. It just tries to be right—and more often than not, it succeeds.
