Artem Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ Watch Straps

by Brent Robillard

Refined and innovative

Artem has been a staple in my strap collection since they launched their first sailcloth straps (in black and only black), and over the years, they’ve continued to refine and innovate. Their Nylon NATOs are among the best I’ve ever worn, but it was the introduction of their HydroFlex™ Hybrid straps that truly hooked me. As someone who loves the convenience of a bracelet but primarily wears dive watches, Artem’s latest Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ straps feel like the best of both worlds.

HydroFlex™ material

The HydroFlex™ material is a real standout. It blends durability with flexibility, offering a comfortable, form-fitting experience that hugs the wrist beautifully. The exterior has the rugged look of a high-quality sailcloth-style strap, but the interior is where the magic happens. The rubberized lining not only adds to the comfort but also makes the strap highly resistant to sweat and water—ideal for dive watch enthusiasts (like me).

Loop-less™ clasp system

What really sets this latest line apart, though, is the Loop-less™ clasp system. Artem has managed to refine an already fantastic strap concept by eliminating the excess strap tail, allowing for a cleaner, more integrated look. This design means no keepers to adjust and no loose ends to tuck away, making for an effortless wear experience.

A wide array of colours and sizes

The Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ straps are available in a variety of colors, catering to different watch styles and personal preferences. In terms of dimensions, they cover a solid range, from 18mm to 22mm—which means that even your oddball, wonky lug widths of 19 and 21mm are covered. For me, that means my YEMA Worldtimer and my Aquastar Deepstar 39 will no doubt get a bump  in wrist time.  These straps also come with quick-release spring bars.

The 20mm version I’ve been wearing for review tapers to 18mm at the clasp, providing a sleek and balanced aesthetic. The strap itself measures 5.4mm thick at the lugs, gradually thinning to 2.2mm at the buckle, which gives it both presence and flexibility without feeling bulky.

Final Thoughts

After spending time with these, I can confidently say that Artem has delivered yet again. If you’re after a strap that blends the resilience of a high-quality rubber strap with the refined aesthetic of a premium textile band—and one that offers a fit-and-forget experience—this is it. The Loop-less™ HydroFlex™ is another win from Artem, and I have no doubt it’ll find a permanent place in many watch enthusiasts’ rotations.
