The pink jersey
Over the last while, I’ve taken a step back to focus on gratitude and the opportunities I have in the watch world and life. I get to admire an object I love and connect with many amazing people who create these wearable expressions of self. I was honoured to work with Magnus and the folks at Bravur Watches earlier this year when I looked at the Team Heritage – REN, and now I have the chance to check out a watch that made me feel so much from its beauty, depth, and detail. Today, I’m talking about the Bravur Grand Tour La Corsa Rosa.

Key Features of the Bravur Grand Tour La Corsa Rosa
My first experience with Bravur was exceptional, from communication with Magnus to the watch, so I had a feeling that the La Corsa Rosa wouldn’t disappoint. For those who don’t know, my two favourite colours are black and pink, and seeing the beautiful combo of stainless steel, black and pink swept me off my feet and captivated me from a simple product shot on the Bravur website.
With the watch being a limited run of only 50 pieces, I wasn’t sure I’d get my hands on one, but one day, I got an email from Magnus confirming the watch was on its way.
Fun fact: I did so purely from an aesthetics perspective when I asked to check out the watch. I didn’t look at the specs, which I realized when it showed up, so I went into this slightly blind, which was exciting! For some reason, I was expecting the La Corsa Rosa to be on the larger side, but when I opened the leather Bravur travel pouch, I was surprised to see a chronograph in a smaller form factor.
Measuring 38.2mm in diameter with a 46.3mm lug-to-lug and 14.4mm thick, the La Corsa Rosa is a comfy, compact and cozy watch; the 3 Cs of watch design, to me anyway. I expect a chronograph to be a little chunky, but the La Corsa Rosa is so well-proportioned it feels excellent.

The La Corsa Rosa is probably one of the most beautiful chronographs I’ve ever seen. Its sporty yet elegant case features brushed lugs and a highly polished bezel surrounding the sapphire crystal, encapsulating the stunning tarmac-textured black dial. The La Corsa Rosa is packed with so much detail, but my favourite part is the three-toned pink subdials and pink accents, inspired by the jersey of the Giro d’Italia, la maglia rosa.
The dial features a 15-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. Tying the design together is the beautiful “pill”- shaped indices, which feature a split white/pink index at 12 o’clock. Many details perfectly represent Bravur’s passion for road cycling, and they are beautifully executed throughout all aspects of the La Corsa Rosa, especially the tiny details like the upside-down number 13 in the minute track: riders who carry the number 13 typically wear it as such.

Quibbles
While the dial is beautifully put together, the one thing I noticed was the La Corsa Rosa wordmark above the Bravur logo. There’s a lot of text in one area, and I feel “La Corsa Rosa” could be moved to the caseback to allow the logo to breathe. On the note of the caseback, as much as I love to see the movement, I think this watch could have benefited from a closed caseback and included a nice engraving for the “La Corsa Rosa” text.

Final Thoughts
The Bravur Grand Tour La Corsa Rosa is a watch that genuinely hurts to send back. I’ve loved every second I’ve had with it. For those looking for a chronograph with a more svelte feel on the wrist that looks incredible, I can’t recommend this enough.
Pricing & Availability
The La Corsa Rosa is currently out of stock, but the newest version, the La Corsa Rosa II, is in stock and available now, retailing for the same price as the original at $2,550 ($3,754 CAD). Check out the Bravur website for more
