Divers, Chronographs, GMTs, oh my. Farer is back at it again with yet another fantastic release. Over the last eight months, the brand has launched some lovely new collections and variations to its catalogue, and there doesn’t seem to be an end anytime soon. The latest release features a streamlined and elegant rectangular case and classic styling with a modern twist. Farer presents the NEW Tonneau Collection.

“The Tonneau collection aims to bring aesthetics to the fore and deliver a range of watches that make a statement with their bold dials. Each watch has been designed to offer a different take on a clean two-hand design that combines flowing lines and lustrous finishing to produce a watch that combines style and function in equal measure.”
–Farer

The name for the collection comes from the “tonneau” case shape, meaning the case is not square or rectangular but a rectangular shape with soft, rounded edges, which are prominent throughout the entire case design. The 35mm stainless steel case is primarily brushed with a thin yet elegant high-polished chamfer surrounding the outer edge for a hint of class and flash. The Tonneau is well proportioned with the 35mm case, featuring a 10.6mm case thickness with a 45mm lug-to-lug.

“On each case side, you’ll notice a sharp engraved line tracing the edge of the curve. This breaks up the profile of the case and adds another small piece of detailing to the overall design of the watch. On the wrist, the tonneau case strikes the perfect balance between presence and comfort. It’s not overly large, but this sleek case is substantial enough to stand out.”

While the case is stunning, the dial brings the whole design together. The Tonneau collection comes in 3 variations: Milan (emerald-green with polished indices), London (white with red indices and blue accents) and Paris (electric blue with polished Roman numeral indices). Each dial features a wealth of depth and sophistication thanks to the pattern of concentric ridges. The beautiful case and dial design wouldn’t be complete without the movement, however, and Farer have called on the reliable Swiss Made Sellita SW300-1 Elaboré calibre to power the Tonneau collection. It has been modified to remove the seconds hand and features a 56-hour power reserve. For more information, check out the Tonneau collection by clicking here.
